Chanel Dews

Chanel Dews, from Prince George’s County, Maryland, graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Spring 2018 with a BFA in Dance & Choreography. During her first year at VCU, she joined Johnnie Cruise Mercer/theREDprojectnyc, performing in "Undoing the Silence." She also worked with Dr. Elgie G. Sherrod in "TWINE" and performed at LA’s Choreographer’s Carnival. Chanel's early dance education included training at Suitland High School's Center for the Visual & Performing Arts, the Washington School of Ballet, and Paula Brown Performing Arts Center (PBPAC). Since earning her BFA, she has performed with Capitol Movement LLC, choreographed "Tygressa Sings Natalie" at the Kennedy Center, and directed two virtual programs for PBPAC. Currently, she is a Ballet Instructor at The Washington School of Ballet.
