Riyan Ware
Riyan Ware is currently in the 11th grade at Bishop McNamara High School, where she attends on a dance scholarship and takes daily dance classes. She has trained extensively with the Washington Ballet, Raw Element Dance Company, The Washington Commanders All Star Dance Team, and Hope Boykin’s Kennedy Center Dance Lab. Riyan has also received scholarships and participated in various dance intensives nationally during the summer, including being a three-time scholarship winner at Tremaine Dance Convention.In addition to her dance pursuits, Riyan is an active member of the Kennedy Center Youth Council and serves on Glenn Ivy’s Youth Advisory Board Council for Congress. She is an Honor Roll student, President of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts for her school’s chapter, and a Student Ambassador. Riyan will spend her upcoming summer training with the Dance Theater of Harlem in preparation for her senior year. She also has a keen interest in Medicine and will be attending a Neuroscience Internship at Georgetown. Her goal is to find a way to merge her passions for dance and medicine. Riyan's philosophy is encapsulated in her words, "Step off the Road, build yourself a brand new path."
